Jawan posted in minister's security killed
Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, May 12 (UNI) A jawan, posted in security of state Public Health Engineering Minister Kedar Kashyap, was today gunned down by naxals in broad daylight, police said.
Mr Kashyap was taking rest at a guesthouse in Mardapal when jawan Sukhchand Sahu went out to market for some work. He was attacked by three bicycle-borne naxals, who snatched away his AK 47 rifle and fled.
Police jawans, who were present on the spot, chased the ultras but failed to nab them.
A bag, which contained hand grenades, was left by the naxals which was seized by the police.
The minister was here to inaugurate the new building of a police station.
