J K Cement posts 448 pc rise in net profit

Mumbai, May 12: The cement major J K Cement Ltd posted net profit of 448 per cent for 2006-07 and announced a dividend of Rs 3.50 per share here.

In the financial year ended March 31, 2007, the company earned a net profit of Rs 178.6 crore against Rs 32.6 crore of previous fiscal. The earning per share increased to Rs 25.54 as against Rs 6.37 of 2005-06.

The Company has two Grey Cement plants at Nimbahera and Mangrol with an aggregate installed capacity of four million tons making it one of the top five producers of grey cement in the northern region.

It is also the second largest producer of White Cement in the country having manufacturing facility at Gotan with an annual installed capacity of 0.4 million tons.
