Shimla, May 12 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh unit of the BJP today alleged that the Congress had enrolled large-scale of bogus voters in various wards of the town to get an unfair advantage in the coming Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) elections.

Addressing mediapersons here, party's incharge for the corporation elections and MP Suresh Bhardwaj said a large number of bogus voters had been added specially in ward nos 12, 13, and 25.

He claimed that a large number of voters from outside the state have been enrolled in these wards, while the names of local people have been deleted.

The state government had pressurised the district administration to enroll these voters, for which the BJP has also lodged a complaint with the state election commission, he said.

Mr Bhardwaj said the party would also submit a memorandum to the commission on Monday and would resort to direct action if no step was taken.

Accusing the Congress Government of violating the model code of conduct, he said it had not removed the hoardings of AICC president Sonia Gandhi and CM Virbhadra Singh besides making populist announcements.
