Bihar MLC's daughter allegdly abducted for huge ransom

Muzaffarpur, May 12 (UNI) Nishi, daughter of RJD member of the Bihar Legislative Council(MLC) Dinesh Singh, who has been missing since May four, is suspected to have been abducted for a huge ransom.

Official sources here today said though there was no formal demand for any ransom so far, it was believed that Rs one crore had been sought from the girl's family by the alleged abductors.

Quoting family sources, officials said the issue came to light very recently after Nishi's uncle Anil Singh lodged a complaint in the local police station about the alleged kidnapping of his niece and the demand for Rs one crore as ransom.

Though the police launched a massive manhunt to rescue the girl and nab the alleged abductors, none have so far been picked up even for questioning.

Meanwhile, sources ruled out the possibility of abduction and suspicion that the girl might have eloped with her long time friend Shivarth Sharma.

Despite the government's claim of improvement in the law and order situation, the number of kidnapping cases have started rising recently with reports of abduction coming from the capital city as well as from other places, causing concern among the people.
