All villages on Bhuna feeder shift to CFLs

Chandigarh, May 12 (UNI) Bhuna electricity supply feeder of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN), feeding electricity to four villages of district Sirsa, has become first CFL feeder of Haryana on which all the villages have shifted completely to Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs).

A DHBVN spokesman said that under its campaign, a team of DHBVN officials persuaded residents of the four villages namely Bhorawali, Bhuna, Bhuna Jagga and Gidhran which were being fed electricity through 18 km long 11 KV feeder Bhuna to replace the conventional incandescent bulbs with energy efficient compact lamps (CFLs).

The officials, during their campaign sold about 4200 CFLs to the villagers to replace conventional incandescent bulbs. In total, 1239 consumers in these four villages replaced 5700 conventional bulbs with CFLs, he added.
