Tusker wins but 'Maya' loses

Lucknow, May 11 (UNI) Bizarre as it may sound, but this is true. The BSP elephant may have made it to the finish line in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, but 'Mayawati' lost the electoral battle.

Bhim Rao Ambedkar won the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls but 'Mayawati' lost even as the Bahujan Samaj Party was set to form the next government in the state.

Bhim Rao Ambedkar was a BSP candidate from Lakhna (reserved) who registered victory, while Mayawati, another candidate from Ambedkarnagar, lost the assembly polls.

In fact, the BSP supremo Mayawati had asked her namesake to change her name to Maya Prasad but officially considering her original name lucky the latter jumped into the fray from Srinagar assembly constituency using the name of the BSP supremo.

Unfortunately, 'Maya's' name did not prove as lucky as was the case of the Dalit messiah , who is all set to become Uttar Pradesh chief minister for the fourth time.
