Traders meet Delhi CM, call for permanent solution to sealing
New Delhi, May 11 (UNI) A delegation of traders in Delhi today met Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit and urged her to carve out a solution to sealing.
The delegation, led by the secretary general of the confederation of all India traders Parveen Khandelwal and comprising Delhi trade leaders, handed over to the Chief Minister a 13 point memorandum urging her to evolve a permanent solution to the sealing issue.
They also urged the Chief Minister to make a strong plea in the Supreme Court to protect Delhi traders from sealing. They also made a plea for extension by two years of the Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Act, 2006.
The traders are holding a 'Vyapari Panchayat' tomorrow at New Delhi on the sealing issue, to be attended by trade leaders across Delhi and MLAs and Municipal councillors belonging to the trading community.
