Surana Industries finalises contract for 35 MW Captive Power Plant

Chennai, May 11 (UNI) City-based leading steel manufacturers Surana Industries Limited (SIL) today announced that it has finalised the contract for sum of Rs 58 crore for Boilers, ESP and Turbine for 35 MW Captive Power Plant from various companies here for its New Integrated Steel Plant at Raichur in Karnataka.

A company relese here today said SIL was setting up a new Integrated Steel Complex at Raichur in Karnataka at a total investment of Rs 473 crore.

The Raichur Steel Plant will have capacity to produce 128,000 tonnes of sponge Iron, 225,000 tonnes of Steel melting shop and two lakhs tonnes of rolling mill annually.

The plant will have 30 MW Captive Power Plants.

The Karnataka government has provided 165 acres of land out of 300 acres promised.

The new Integrated Steel Complex was being set up to manufacture special steels mainly meant for automotive industries and was expected to be operational in March 2008, the release added.
