Suicide raid hurts 2 US soldiers in Afghanistan
KHOST, Afghanistan, May 11 (Reuters) A suicide bomber rammed his car into a convoy of US-led coalition troops in Afghanistan near the border with Pakistan today, wounding at least two US soldiers, government and coalition officials said.
The troops cordoned off the site of the attack which took place on a road in Urgun district of southeastern Paktika province, provincial officials said.
Both NATO and US-led troops operate in the area and a Taliban spokesman said the bomber was a member of the militant group which has stepped up its attacks against foreign and government forces in recent months.
An official for the US military said at least two American soldiers were wounded in the attack.
