Sikkim: Singapore co makes urban plan presentation
Gangtok, May 11: A four-member delegation from Singapore's Building and Construction Authority (BAC) has made a presentation on urban plan for Gangtok and eight other towns of Sikkim before chief minister Pawan Chamling.
Mr Chamling had invided the delegation during his official tour to Singapore in June 2006.
He made an understanding between the government of Sikkim and BAC, Singapore, to give shape to the small towns of Sikkim as world class townships.
During the presentation yesterday, the BAC delegates suggested the state government to formulate a comprehensive report on urban sector, forestry and environment first.
They said the report should reach them in Singapore within mid June this year so that they would be able to start their work by July, official sources said here today.
The BAC delegates comprising Kohilng-Ji, Director (Internal Operation), Liongshang Young, Deputy Centre Director, Loong Yee Mun, vice-president (Master planning and urban design) and R S Prakash, Director South Asia.
