Raid on naxal bunkers, SLR catridges recovered

Daltonganj, May 11 (UNI) Security forces today raided a mini-bunker of a proscribed naxal outfit and recovered huge amount of Self Loading Rifles'(SLR) catridges in Jharkhand's Palamu district.

Suprintendent of Police(SP) Udyan Singh informed UNI that about 1,750 SLR catridges, 105 chargers and naxal literature were recovered from the bunker.

''Acting on a tip off, police force and Central Reserve Police Forces(CRPF) jawans conducted a joint operation,'' Mr Singh said, adding that they were unable to nab the ultras as they fled from the spot.

The SP suspected that the ultras were planning to distribute the cartridges before the by-poll for Daltonganj Assembly seat slated to be held on June 2.
