PM, Sonia leave for New Delhi

Chennai, May 11 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi left for New Delhi tonight by a special aircraft after a brief visit to the city.

Both of them arrived here to participate in the function to felicitate DMK President and Chief Minister M Karunanidhi on his Golden Jubilee in the state Assembly.

At the airport, they were seen off by Governor Surjit Singh Barnala, Chennai Corporation Mayor M Subramanian, Union Ministers T R Baalu, G K Vasan, E V K S Elangovan, Lok Sabha MPs, MLAs, TNCC President M Krishnaswamy, leaders of various other political parties besides top police and revenue officials.
