PM calls up Mayawati to congratulate her on victory

New Delhi, May 11 (UNI) In a prompt gesture, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today telephoned BSP chief Mayawati and congratulated her on her party's victory in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections.

''The Prime Minister called up Ms Mayawati and congratulated her,'' Dr Singh's office said.

The Prime Minister's conversation comes even as the counting of votes is still on. The projection of BSP's clear victory is based on counting trends.
