Nitish announces exgratia

Patna, May 11 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar announced compensation of Rs 50,000 to the kith of each killed in todays bus accident on Mahatma Gandhi setu in Vaishali district.

Mr Kumar, who is in Delhi in connection with the treatment of his wife, expressed grief over the mishap and directed the administration to provide treatment to those injured at government expense.

He also instituted a probe into the accident.

The chief minister said the government would expedite the payments of the insurance amount to the victims of the accident which had so far claimed 21 lives and left 17 injured.
