Mulayam resigns following defeat in UP Polls
Lucknow, May 11 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today submitted his resignation to state Governor T V Rajeswar after his party's defeat in the assembly polls in the state.
Even before all the results were out, Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav accepted defeat and tendered his resignation this aftenoon.
Mr Yadav was in office since August 29,2003.
The Governor asked Mr Yadav to continue till the new government was sworn in.
