MRF launches new tyre

Chennai, May 11 (UNI) MRF, the largest tyre company in the country, today announced the launch of 'Super Lug Fifty FS', a fuel efficiency truck tyre.

Addressing a press conference here, company Executive Vice-President (Marketing) Koshy K Varghese said the eco-friendly tyre was an innovation of MRF and the first of its kind in the country, designed to save fuel.

''This is a revolutionary innovation in bias tyre technology and customers who have fitted this tyre have reported fuel saving of around five per cent,'' he said.

The new tyre had been under test for the last few years and many customers across the country had used the product and derived the benefit of lower fuel consumption, Mr Varghese claimed.

He said truck tyre constituted 50 per cent of the total tyre industry and MRF was leading the segment with a market share of 23 per cent.
