MCX, Rotary launch 'Pragati' project

Mumbai, May 11 (UNI) Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the country's premier commodity exchange, and the Rotary International Club today launched Pragati, a joint Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) pilot project here.

MCX DMD Lamon Rutten told reporters here today, ''This is the first time we are holding a seminar on training people of MCX deals and also awareness of essential commodity situation in the state.'' He said this is a special training initiative conceived and designed by the MCX Centre of Academia with Rotary International Club and an ambitious attempt of MCX to empower rural youth with education and spread awareness to aid rural development.

MCX under Pragati has organised special awareness programmes for Rotarians so that they can enable and empower the rural youth farmers to get insights into the benefits as well as avail of career opportunities thrown up by the rapidly evolving commodity markets. In particularly, new opportunities that come with futures in mitigating price risk as well as making them aware of the dissemination of spot and futures prices flowing from the exchange are no less important.

The project seeks to spread awareness about such opportunities among the rural aspirants and jobseekers and create empowerment through knowledge dissemination.
