Bangalore, May 11 (UNI) Opposition leader in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly N Dharam Singh today alleged that Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has failed to maintain the decorum of the office he held.

"Mr Kumaraswamy's recent behaviour at the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) and his outbursts against Vice Chancellor Sudha Rao, in connection with regularisation of daily wage employees who had been removed last year, was condemnable. The CM should maintain dignity", he said.

Speaking to newspersons here he said KOSU was a autonomous body and the Chief Minister should have first called for a report from the concerned department and then taken appropriate action. "Vice Chancellor's office has its own dignity, Chief Minister has no right to insult an officer of that stature", he added.

Referring to unabated farmers suicides, he said that in Bidar alone 20 farmers had committed suicide in the recent days. "The State government has totally failed to come to the rescue of farmers," he alleged Taking strong exception to the state government's move to restrict working hours for women up to eight PM, Mr Singh alleged that this showed that the government was not in a position to provide security to women in the State. "Labour Minister's explanation that this was a move initiated towards protecting women, was an irresponsible statement. He should not make such foolish statements being a Minister." He further alleged that whenever a bill had to be passed it was an obligation on part of the government to consult Opposition parties, but in this regard no consultation was done and the act had attracted public wrath.
