Kaveri telecom acquires canadian firm

Bangalore, May 11 (UNI) Kaveri Telecom Products, a Bangalore based leader in Antenna and Radio Frequency Products has acquired a Canadian firm DCI Digital Communications to meet the growing demand for filters and other telecom products.

For the Rs 50 crore Company expecting to double its turnover this year, the acquisition was the second as it had earlier acquired another Canadian firm Til-Tek, a specialised Antenna firm. Together the two companies would enable Kaveri Telecom to penetrate North American and European markets, Col T S Gururaj(Retd) General Manager of the company told newsmen here today.

Company Secretary Venkateswarlu said the acquisition would also add a significant number of products in the filter segment in GSM/CDMA market.

With three manufacturing facilities in Bangalore and one in Pondicherry, Kaveri Telecom was also a leader in providing antenna solutions to buildings to improve access to mobile services.

Currently it was executing a sizeable order from the greenfield Bangalore International Airport Limited to put in place a system to enable continuous availability of mobile services links. The order when completed would be worth Rs one crore. Similar order has also been received from Mumbai order modernisation programme, Mr Gururaj added.

Referring to filters from DCI he said the products would be used in Indian market also. ''We have strengthened the marketing network both in North America and India to aggressively target emerging markets'' he added.
