Haryana, Dutch varsities join hands in research
Chandigarh, May 11 (UNI) The Choudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agriculture University (CCSHAU), Hisar and Wageningen University of Holland have signed a letter of intent for cooperation and research leading to doctorate programme in areas of Biotechnology, Food Nutrition and Plant Breeding.
Under the programme, students sponsored by CCSHAU will be awarded Ph D degrees from the Wageningen University.
The letter of intent was signed during the visit of six-member delegation headed by Haryana Agriculture Ministe Harmohinder Singh Chatha to Holland.
The delegation which today concluded its four-day visit to Holland, would also visit Madrid, Rome, London and Paris.
The sponsored students would also get full scholarship and traveling expenses. It was also agreed that both universities would work on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to conduct research in the areas of Floriculture, Horticulture, Natural Resource Conservation, Low Cost energy efficient Poly Houses and capacity building in the field of Food Engineering and Biotechnology.
