Gujarat CID team grills AP cops, media denied entry

Hyderabad, May 11 (UNI) The Gujarat CB-CID team, led by CID Inspector General Geeta Johri, today grilled City Police Additional Commissioner (Crime) Rajiv Trivedi in connection with the fake encounter case of Sohrabuddin and his wife Kausar Bi Mr Trivedi was questioned after recording the statement of CRPF DIG E Radhakrishnayya, an IPS officer of Gujarat cadre.

According to sources, Ms Johri met Mr Trivedi and inquired about the role of Andhra Pradesh Police in the incident.

Mr Trivedi is believed to have close links with the IPS officers of Gujarat cadre involved in the case and there were allegations that the Gujarat Police sought Mr Trivedi's help in the encounter.

However, the CID team, escorted by the city police, did not allow the media to interact with Ms Johri after the team met Mr Radhakrishnayya and Mr Trivedi at the office premises.

Ms Johri, who arrived in the city on May 9 night, earlier today recorded the statement of Mr Radhakrishnayya, believed to be close to D G Vanzara, the DIG of Gujarat cadre, who had been arrested along with two other IPS officers in connection with the case.
