Foreign reserves come down to USD 204.009 billion

Mumbai, May 11 (UNI) India's foreign reserves diminished slightly to USD 204.009 billion as compared to USD 204.135 billion last week, according to the central bank weekly statistical report.

The foreign currency assets stood at USD 196.500 billion against USD 196.877 billion in the previous week.

Total gold reserves was at 7.036 billion whereas the country's reserve position in the international monetary fund(IMF) stood at USD 462 million, said the report.

The central bank said the foreign currency assets expressed in US dollar terms included the effect of appreciation or depreciation of other currencies held in its reserves such as euro, pound and yen.

The foreign exchange reserves include India's reserve tranche position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the bank said.
