FIR against police officials

Kanker, Chhattisgarh, May 11 (UNI) Police have registered FIRs against the then Pankhajur Station House Officer and a head constable in connection with suicide by an accused in police custody.

An inquiry, by Sub-Divisional Officer Bhanupratap Uday Narayan Shukla, revealed that Dileram Bada committed suicide due to physical and mental torture by police.

On the basis of inquiry, Superintendent of Police Vinod Choubey ordered registering of FIR against the then SHO Gopi Kishan Arya and head constable Sukdev Majumdar.

A police station staff has been named co-accused in the case.

Dileram, his son Shiv Prasad and two others Nandkishore and Kashi were brought to the police station.

On April 26, Dileram hanged himself to death in the bathroom of the police station.

The SHO and the head constable were suspended on the day of the incident itself.

As per the police report, Dileram was physically and mentally tortured by police and was being forced to accept murder charge.
