CSIO celebrates National Technology Day
Chandigarh, May 11 (UNI) The Central Scientific Instruments Organisation today celebrated "National Technology Day" by keeping all its laboratories open for viewing by general public.
A large number of visitors, including students from various engineering colleges and universities, went around various laboratories of the organisation and directly interacted with the scientists on technologies developed at the CSIO.
A lecture on "Artificial Heart-Present Status" by Dr K K Talwar, Director, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, was organised on the occasion. The CSIO is embarking on a feasibility study of development of total artificial heart in its Eleventh Five Year Plan.
Dr Pawan Kapur, Director, CSIO, while welcoming the Chief Guest, highlighted the significance of Technology Day and narrated the contributions of CSIO in different areas such as medical, social and defence sectors.
He called upon the staff of CSIO to make concerted efforts in research and development in the areas directly related to people, leading to the improvement of quality of their life style.
