Criminal cases filed against sugar mill officers

Bidar, May 11 (UNI) Police today registered criminal cases under section 306 of Cr P C against the Chief Cane Development Officer Kasinadh Kadide and a Fieldman pandari of Naranja Sahakari Sakkare Karakhane (NSSK) for dereliction of duties which allegedly led to a sugercane farmer to commit suicide at Talmadagi village in Humnabad taluq.

Addressing a press conference NSSK Chairman Gurupadappa alleged that the police had registered false cases on behest of Deputy Commissioner.

The Chairman, who is also MLA, alleged that due to some personal animosity, the cases were registered.

''Registering case against ccdo is amount to registering case against me.

Meanwhile, the crushing in the NSSK came to a stand still in protest against the registering cases. Large number of Gurupadappa followers gathered at the NSSK.

More than 200 sugercane loaded lorries were stranded on Bidar-Aurad road since morning following the stoppage of crushing.

The Deputy Commissioner visited the Bidar-Aurad road.

Negotiations between the Deputy Commissioner and the NSSK Chairman were still going on to find a solution.

The sudden development worsened the woes of sugercane farmers of the region. It may be noted that three sugercane farmers have committed in recent past in Bidar as the sugar factories rejected to lift the sugercane.
