CPCL Q4 up 546.24 pc

New Delhi, May 11 (UNI) Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd (CPCL) today registered a whopping 546.24 per cent increase in its net profit at Rs 189.09 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 29.26 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Total income increased by 4.21 per cent to Rs 5758.99 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007 from Rs 5526.19 crore for the quarter ended last year.

The company posted a net profit of Rs 17.52 per cent at Rs 565.27 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007 as compared to Rs 480.96 crore for the corresponding period last year.

Total income has increased to 16.95 per cent at Rs 24,758.78 crore during March 2007 from Rs 21,169.25 crore in the corresponding period last year.

CPCL has, inter alia, recommended a dividend of 120 per cent on the equity share capital of the company.
