Congress rules out mid-term polls in J
Srinagar, May 11: The Congress in Jammu and Kashmir has ruled out mid-term polls in the state, saying some frustrated elements were circulating these rumours for their vested interests.
Addressing party workers in Baramulla, senior Congress leader Abdul Ghani Vakil asserted that the coalition government-led by Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad would complete its full term.
He said these elements were trying to divert the attention of the people from massive development process put in place by Mr Azad by creating false impression of mid-term polls in the state.
''They are frustrated by seeing the increasing popularity of Mr Azad and his visionary leadership. By announcing historic decisions such as creation of eight new districts and launching war against corruption, Mr Azad is writing golden pages in the history of Jammu and Kashmir,'' Mr Vakil added.
