call money closes firm at 2.25 per cent
Mumbai, May 11 (UNI) Interbank call money today ended firm at 2.25-2.50 per cent compared to yesterday's close at 2.00-2.25pc on reduced funds inflow against higher demand, dealers said.
Call rates opened at 3.50-4.00 per cent from their previous closing level of 2.00-2.50 per cent.
Last minute borrowing requirements on the last day of reporting cycle pushed the call rates slightly on the higher side.
Inter bank rates are likely to soften with huge cash surplus.
During the day, it touched a high of 4 per cent and a low of 2.25 per cent, dealers added.
