BSP to have say in Presidential poll process

New Delhi, May 11 (UNI)The Congress today side stepped queries about the strategy being adopted by the party for the selection of candidates for the Presidential poll.

''It is a process which will have to be gone through by the leading players.This process,which involves discussion behind closed doors, takes time,'' Congress Spokesman Abhishek Singhvi said.

''You will know the process at the appropriate time,'' he said talking to media persons here.

Replying to a question, Mr Singhvi agreed that the Bahujan Samaj Party, which is set to form a new Government in Uttar Pradesh, would also have a say in the selection of the UPA candidate for the Presidential poll as would have the Left parties. It would be a combination of the UPA, Left and the BSP that would play an important role in fielding a candidate for the post.
