Boar mauls two villagers in Phillaur
Phagwara, May 11 (UNI) A boar mauled two farmers this afternoon at Phillaur sub division's village Virk, where about 200-odd boars are causing havoc for quite sometime.
Surjit Singh and Narinder Singh sustained serious injuries after a boar attacked them while working in the fields. Both were admitted in a private hospital of Phagwara, sources here said.
SDM Pritam Singh, who visited the village was told by the villagers that the boars have been creating a havoc in their fields and had now began attcking here as well.
Mr Singh said he had asked the forest department officials to bring "Tranquiliser Gun" from Chhat Bir Zoo and said the boars would be sent to Chhat Bir Zoo soon.
Meanwhile, the SDM also told that he will send his recommendations to bring Phillaur Sub Division under Wild Life Area.
