AIMF to contest GoaAssembly elections

Panaji, May 11 (UNI) All India Minorities Front (AIMF) will contest the June 2 Goa Assembly elections, front Chief S M Asif said today.

Mr Asif told mediapersons here that his party would give preference to women and youth besides those with considerable political experience but denied ticket by other parties especially members of minority, SC, ST and OBC communities.

The party, he said, was for ''liberating'' the people from ''corrupt and mafia-dominated'' political system in Goa besides keeping communal elements at bay.

He also condemned the attack on a trader in Margao that resulted in bandh yesterday, and censured communal elements who wrecked havoc in Sanvordem-Curchorem last year.
