Woman set afire by neighbours

Anand, May 10 (UNI) A woman who was set on fire by her neighbour on May 5 at Ruparel village following a dispute over erecting a ''mandap'' for a marriage ceremony, died today at a hospital in Karamsad.

Bharatbhai D Talpade and Rajubhai Talpade are neighbours in Ruparel village. For a marriage function at Rajubhai's house on May 6, a mandap was being erected on May 4 evening in front of his neighbour Bharatbhai's house. However, Bharatbhai's mother Jassiben objected to this. This enraged Rajubhai's family who eventually attacked Bharatbhai's family members.

Rajubhai's wife Kokilaben doused Jassiben with kerosene and set her afire. Jassiben was rushed to a Karamsad hospital with serious burn injuries. She passed away today.
