WLCI launches new job oriented courses for students

Kolkata, May 10 (UNI) Wigan&Liegh College India (WLCI) today announced launching of a new array of courses to provide professional training for undergraduate and post-graduate students, according to WLCI's CEO Malobika Sengupta.

Addressing a news conference here, Ms Sengupta said apart from the ongoing courses of Business, Fashion, Media, Advertising and Graphic Design, the college will now offer full time and part time programme in Retail, Banking, Hospital Administration, Information Technology and Hospitality ranging between two to four years duration with annual fees of up to Rs 1.5 lakh depending on the stream.

She said the WLCI patterned the courses as there was huge demand for trained professionals in the industries. "WLCI aims at addresssing this demand by preparing students to meet global challenges through specially designed courses with innovative teaching methodology," she said.

The institution has also tied up with several industries for in-house training, she added.

Ms Sengupta said the students for the courses would be selected through various tests like General Aptitude Test (GET) and Professional Aptitude Test (PAT).

Since launching the country's first course in New Delhi in 1996, WLCI now has 15 campuses across the country and more than 10,000 students have sucessfuly found a career.
