ULFA strikes in Sivasagar, five injured
Guwahati, May 10 (UNI) At least five people were seriously injured when the ULFA triggered a blast in the heart of Sivasagar town in upper Asom this afternoon.
Police said an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off inside a diagnostic centre at Amolapatty in Sivasagar at around 1350 hours.
A nurse and two employees of the diagnostic centre were among the five injured in the incident.
All were rushed to the Sivasagar Civil Hospital. One of them, Sanjay Kumar Deka, was stated to be critical.
Police said a 25-26 year old woman had kept the bag, containing the IED, at the diagnostic centre just minutes before it exploded.
Police officials rushed to the spot and the entire area has been cordoned off.
Investigation was on. No one has been arrested so far.
