Select metal prices eases on poor industrial demand

Mumbai, May 10 (UNI) Select metal prices eased on poor industrial demand along with the London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange said.

In the ferrous section, copper heavy and copper utensils declined by Rs 600 and Rs 700 per quintal respectively while brass utensils and brass cutting fell by Rs 500 and Rs 400 per quintal respectively on sustained heavy selling pressure.

In the non-ferrous section, copper wire bars and aluminium ingots drifted lower by Rs 700 and Rs 100 per quintal respectively on improved offers by stockists.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: Copper heavy - Rs 35,800, Copper utensils - Rs 33,200, Brass utensils - Rs 25,700, Brass cuttings - Rs 26,800 and Aluminium utensils - Rs 11,900.

Non-ferrous metals: Copper wire bars - Rs 39,500, Aluminium ingots - Rs 14,100, Zinc slabs - Rs 20,200, Lead ingots - Rs 10,000, Tin slab - Rs 750 (per kg) and Nickel cathode - Rs 2,300 (per kg).
