Percept partners Lachlan Murdoch for talent management

Mumbai, May 10 (UNI) Percept Holdings and Lachlan Murdoch have announced the launch of 'Percept Talent Management'(PTM), a new initiative in the business of talent management.

PTM will represent exceptional creative and technical talent in the fields of motion pictures, television, fashion, music, sports and branded entertainment, said Mr Shailendra Singh, Joint MD of Percept Holdings, told a press conference here yesterday.

He said the new company foresees an estimated top-line of Rs one billion in the first year and it is forecasted to grow to Rs three billion within 24-30 months of operation.

The initiative signifies a paradigm shift in the business of Talent Management. PTM marks a confluence between creating, inculcating and promoting talent in every sense of the word and will manage the entire spectrum of marketing, financial, administrative and other needs for the talent in the media and entertainment space.

PTM will be a 360-degree model, covering all aspects of exposure possible for a talent. PTM will acquire talent from all genres and provide value offerings in key management areas like legal, financial, tax,wealth, health, diet, image and social responsibility needs, while also looking after their professional contracts, digital domain, publishing, merchandising, media tie-ups, PR and grooming, relationship management and endorsements.

Mr Singh said PTM will now handle the entire business aspect of the celebrity. ''Its job will be to convert talent into a business,''he added.

Actress Priyanka Chopra, who was present on the occasion, said 'Talent management has come a long way from just managing a celebrity's career and getting him/her work''.

Mr Murdoch said ''the media industry is driven by its creative talent. After more than a decade of involvement in the Indian media business, I am pleased that my company -IIIyria's first Indian investment leverages the great depth of talent here through this partnership with Percept Holdings. I have great faith that PTM will serve its clients and grow into a significant force in the Indian media landscape.'' Ms Vinita Bangard, COO of PTM, said a main objective of PTM was to identify raw talent and give them the professional edge needed to catapult their career.
