LS adjourned over Shiela's statement on UP-Bihar migrants

New Delhi, May 10 (UNI) Cutting across party lines, Lok Sabha members got on their feet, raised an uproar and trooped into the well of House protesting against Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit's reported statement that migrants from UP, Bihar were responsible for the capital's ills.

Even as Ms Dikshit later clarified that she had simply made a reference that migrants from states settling down permanently in the capital put am endless pressure the on civic amenities, the agitated members wanted the Chief Minister to apologise.

The BJP MPs shouted slogans against Ms Dikshit and were even heard demanding her resignation.

The members of RJD, Samajwadi Party and BSP also rushed into the well shouting slogans in a separate group drowning the House virtually in a din.

Sensing the adamant attitude of MPs virtually attempting to outwit one another from political point of view, Speaker Somnath Chatterjee adjourned the House till 1200 hrs and the 'Question Hour' could not be taken up.
