Justice Dathu transferred

Bilaspur, May 10 (UNI) Chhattisgarh High Court Chief Justice H N Dathu was given a farewell here yesterday on his transfer to the Kerala High Court.

Justice Lal Chand Bhadu was given charge of Acting Chief Justice as no regular appointment was made yet.

A former judge of the Karnataka High Court, Justice Dathu had a brief tenure of two-and-a-half month as Chief Justice of the High Court which came into existence on the formation of Chhattisgarh on November 1, 2000.

Of a total of six Chief Justices posted here so far, Mr W A Shishak, Mr A K Patnaik and Mr H N Dathu were transferred while three others -- Mr K H N Kurang, Mr A V S Murthy and Mr S Rama Naik -- had retired.
