ICN designs kits to help nurses
Manipal, May 10 (UNI) In an effort to recognise the contribution and commitment of nurses to deliver quality health care, the International Council of Nurses has embarked on a theme of Positive practice environment.
The Council had designed a kit to help nurses raise awareness and take action that can be used by managers, front-line nurses, chief executive officers. It would also provide data on positive practice environments to all who are interested in improving the delivery of quality health services.
The International Nurse Day falls on May 12.
As part of the celebrations an exhibition was opened at Manipal Hospital here today. MD and CEO of Manipal Health Systems, R Basil, said a nurse's compassion and commitment always make a huge difference in treating patients.
On the occasion, Ms J Vimalamma, one of the recipients of the Florence Nightingale Award 2007, sponsored by Anglo Indian Unity Centre Welfare and Florence Nightingale Nurse Welfare Association, was honoured. About a dozen nurses receive this prestigious award from each states.
