Heat conditions continue, rains expected

Kolkata, May 10 (UNI) Partly cloudy sky from morning brought respite to the soaring heat wave conditions in the city today.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 34.2 degrees Celsius, two degrees below normal, while the minimum temperature stabled at around 26.3 degrees Celsius.

Scanty rainfall in the city and its suburbs brought the mercury level down. Two mm rainfall was recorded, Met officials said here.

The maximum relative humidity was pegged around 96 per cent, while the minimum was at 59 per cent.

Met sources predict partly cloudy sky with possibility of rain towards the evening or night.

The maximum temperature for the next 24 hours is likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius.
