Head constable killed in naxalite encounter

Kanker, Chhattisgarh, May 10 (UNI) A head constable was today killed during an encounter with naxals near Kodnala village in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district, police said.

A police team was returning after opening up road blockade at Durg Kodal Badgaon road when naxals triggered a pressure bomb.

Head constable Rajesh Madkam died on the spot, while constable Chandulal was injured. The injured was admitted to Bhanupratapur hospital.
