New Delhi, May 10 (UNI) The coolness in the air in Delhi brought about over the last week by a fresh upper air circulation continued today even though the mercury rose slightly to 39.7 degree Celsius.

The cool Easterly winds which had yesterday led to a fall in maximum temperature to 38.1 degree, today maintained some coolness in the air despite a rise in temperature to 39.7 degree.

The cool air in Delhi is likely to continue for another day or two with the weather office forecasting more thunderstorms in the Capital city and other parts of the Northwest India during the next 48 hours under the influence of an upper air circulation which has, over the last week, maintained temperatures in the capital either at normal or below normal levels.

''Isolated duststorm or thunderstorm accompanied with squall is likely over parts of Northwest India during the next 48 hours,''the Met office said.

The Met office has forecast a mainly clear sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with the likelihood of thundry development in some areas.

They have, however, forecast a slight rise in maximum temperature to 40 degree tomorrow.
