DUJ condemns Madurai incident

New Delhi, May 10 (UNI) The Delhi Union of Journalists today expressed shock over the armed attack on the offices of Tamil daily Dinakaran and the Sun TV network in Madurai in three people were killed yesterday.

''We strongly condemn the attempt to settle internal political scores by factions of the ruling DMK party through arson and violence against a media establishment. We condemn the inaction of the Tamil Nadu police in controlling such violence,'' DUJ president S K Pande said.

The incident highlights the vulnerability of media workers and the urgent need for employers to provide generous insurance cover for employees, he said.
