After Ankit, another child kidnapped in Bihar

Siwan, May 10: Close on the heels of abduction and alleged murder of six year old school student Ankit, a seven year old boy was kidnapped from the bordering district here last night by unidentified armed criminals.

District Sub Divisional Police Officer of Maharajganj Niraj Kumar quoting preliminary reports today informed that the victim Gopi Chand, the son of Pune-based contractor Prem Chand, came to his native village Rasulpur Chakri under Daronda police station on vacation a few days ago. Last night when sleeping along with his family members in the house, a five-member armed gang of criminals abducted him and forcefully took him to an unidentifed spot.

Though no demand for ransom had yet been made, it was apprehended that the kidnapping of Gopi Chand was the handiwork of the members of the notorious V I P Yadav gang, Mr Kumar said adding that a massive combing had already been launched in the district to nab the culprits and recover the child.

The district's entire border with Uttar Pradesh had also been sealed to prevent any attempt to take the abducted child to a new place across the border, the SDPO said.
