Agriculturists demands punitive action

Puducherry, May 10 (UNI) Members of the Puducherry Agriculturists Association owing allegiance to the Communist Party of India today held a demonstration in front of the Cooperative Regulatory Market at Thattanchavady here to press their demands.

They were demanding, among other things, initiating immediate punitive measures against the employees of the regulatory market who allegedly assaulted some agriculturists last week and withdrawal of the "foisted cases" against agriculturists.

It may be recalled that the agriculturists and the employees of the regulatory market clashed last week, in which a few agriculturists and employees sustained injuries.
