3 kids, man drown

Perambalur, Tamil Nadu, May 10 (UNI) Four people, including three children drowned in Coleroon while having bath at Anakkarai village near Jayankondam in this district today.

Police sources said a group of people, all relatives hailing from Porur in Chennai, had gone on a pilgrimage to Kumbakonam.

While returning, they stopped at Anakkarai. K Perumal Chettiar (65), who was running a grocery shop at Porur, took his three grandchildren B Shankar (13), D Santhosh Kumar (10) and K Jayashree (13) for bath in river when the accident occurred.

The bodies were sent to the government hospital here for post- mortem, they said.
