US coalition soldier killed in Afghanistan

Kabul, May 9: A soldier serving with US-led coalition troops in Afghanistan has been killed in fighting in the south of the country, the coalition forces said today.

The soldier was on a combat patrol involving both coalition troops and the Afghan army when they made contact with enemy fighters in Helmand province yesterday night, the coalition forces said in a statement.
