UP: Urfi honoured with Bihar Urdu Academy Award

Allahabad, May 9: Renowned Urdu, Hindi and English writer Kalim Urfi has been honoured with Bihar Urdu Academy award for his book ''Jiski Azmat Me Ghante Bajte Hain.'' He is also the recipient of last year's Uttar Pradesh Urdu Academy Award.

Born in 1933 in Allahabad, Mr Urfi has authored 80 books and has been associated with theatres, TV, radio, plays, films, poems and novels of human standing with very rich language.

His literary honours include many presitigous awards from the state government, AIR, and Union Health Ministry, besides Ekta Samman.
