UP extends rice export policy by two years

Lucknow, May 9 (UNI) Two days ahead of the results of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections are to be announced, the Mulayam Singh Yadav government today extended the state Rice EXport Policy by two years.

The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister minutes after the ongoing session of the state legislative assembly was adjourned sine die.

An official spokesperson said here that the Rice Export Policy (2005-2010) has been extended till September 30, 2012.

''This would help farmers get good returns from their harvest,'' he added.
