Srinagar, May 9 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government today ordered attachment of two senior officials with immediate effect following complaints of gross irregularities.

According to a government order, 537-GAD of 2007, Joint Transport Commissioner Gian Chand Sharma and Deputy Transport Commissioner Asif Hamid Khan have been attached.

The two officers would report to the General Administration Deportment (GAD) till further orders.

Additional Commissioner, Kashmir, A R Mir would hold the charge of the post of Joint Transport Commissioner in addition to his own duties till further orders.

The order takes immediate effect.

The state government had earlier directed the Crime Branch to probe into the issuance of fake licenses and route permits.

The government had received several complaints of alleged gross irregularities against the two officers, particularly during the tenure of Mr Khan as the Regional Transport Officer (RTO), Kashmir.
